From ₹30/sq ft for basic corrugated sheet to ₹280+/sq ft for engineered façade systems. Here's what drives the difference — and how to compare correctly.
Polycarbonate sheet pricing in India varies enormously — from ₹30/sq ft for a basic corrugated sheet to ₹250+/sq ft for a high-performance engineered system. Most buyers end up overpaying or under-specifying because they're comparing products that aren't equivalent.
This guide explains what you're actually buying at each price point, which specifications matter, and what questions to ask before you commit.
The single biggest cost driver. A solid polycarbonate sheet (used for carports and canopies) is priced differently to a multiwall panel engineered for a long-span skylight. Corrugated sheets, which dominate the commodity market, sit at the lower end of the range. Engineered multiwall systems — with UV co-extrusion, interlocking profiles, and load-tested performance — cost more and perform over a significantly longer service life.
More walls and greater thickness = higher thermal performance, higher structural rigidity, and higher price. For most commercial roofing applications in India, 16 mm to 25 mm multiwall is the working range.
This is the most important quality factor and the hardest to verify from a price list alone. UV protection can be co-extruded (fused into the surface material permanently) or coated (applied as a film that can peel, scratch, or degrade). Co-extruded UV protection costs more upfront and is the only standard that holds over a 10+ year outdoor life in India's UV environment. A cheap coated sheet that yellows in 3–4 years has a true cost far higher than its ticket price.
Standard widths run from 500 mm to 2,100 mm. Custom widths and lengths up to 12 m are available from direct manufacturers. Wider panels mean fewer joints, faster installation, and lower on-site labour cost — which changes the total project cost calculation.
A sheet is a material. A system is a sheet plus fixing profile, sealing hardware, and installation methodology. For anything beyond a simple shed roof, buying a system from a manufacturer who provides engineering support and tested installation details will cost more than buying a sheet from a distributor — and will prevent the majority of defects and callbacks.

The right comparison is not just price per square foot — it's price over the service life of the installation, accounting for UV performance, structural rating, and installation cost.
16 mm multiwall polycarbonate sheets in India typically range from ₹120 to ₹170/sq ft depending on the manufacturer, UV protection method, panel width, and order volume. Coxwell's 16 mm Multicell and X-Fix systems are available on a project-quote basis.
For large-span industrial and commercial roofing, 16–25 mm multiwall polycarbonate with co-extruded UV protection and an interlocking standing-seam profile is the appropriate specification. Coxwell's Multicell and X-Fix systems are India's most widely specified in this category.
A properly specified and installed polycarbonate roofing system with co-extruded UV protection should deliver 15–20+ years of performance in Indian outdoor conditions. Panels with coated UV protection typically begin to yellow and haze within 3–6 years. Read our full guide on UV ageing →
Polycarbonate is typically 40–60% lower in installed cost than structural glass for skylight applications of equivalent performance, and significantly lighter (reducing structural load and installation cost further). For applications requiring 10+ year outdoor durability, polycarbonate with co-extruded UV protection is the technically and economically superior choice for most Indian projects.
